Kathmandu, September 27
Twenty-five houses have been swept away after the Kaligandaki River overflowed and entered a settlement in Farse of Jaljala Rural Municipality-8, Parbat.
According to Nepal Police, the river entered the settlement at around 8 am on Sunday after its water level rose. Around 80 houses were located in the settlement. Of these, 25 have been swept away, while the remaining houses are also at risk, police said.
No casualties have been reported so far. All residents of the settlement have been relocated to a safe area, according to police.
Police personnel have been unable to immediately reach the incident site due to a landslide. The site is around six kilometres east of the Milanchok Police Post in Parbat.
Nepal Police said further details of the incident are awaited.
