Kathmandu, September 24
An Indian national has been arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport with half a kilogram of gold.
The person arrested is 42-year-old Mohammad Chera Thodi, who arrived in Kathmandu via Doha, Qatar. Police said he was arrested from the airport’s parking area, with 536 grams of gold recovered from him.
Another Nepali national who had also arrived from Qatar has been arrested with gold as well. The person arrested is 33-year-old Anish Ansari of Pipalpati, Pacharauta Municipality-1, Bara. 69.6 grams of gold were recovered from him.
The Airport Security Police Office said both individuals, along with the gold, have been sent to the Gaushala Police Circle.
