Kathmandu, September 22
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose 7.06 points on the first trading day of the week to close at 2,654 points.
Trading turnover also increased. A total of Rs 7.04 billion worth of shares were traded today, compared with Rs 6.74 billion on the previous trading day.
The Others group posted the biggest gain, rising 1.36 per cent. The Banking group rose 0.35 per cent, Development Bank 0.43 per cent, Hotels and Tourism 0.31 per cent, Investment 0.48 per cent, Life Insurance 0.82 per cent and Microfinance 0.48 per cent.
Finance fell 0.52 per cent, Hydropower 0.14 per cent, Manufacturing and Processing 0.24 per cent, Non-Life Insurance 0.02 per cent and Trading 0.93 per cent.
Share prices of 137 companies increased, while those of 131 companies declined. Prices of 11 companies remained unchanged.
Midsolu Hydropower rose 15 per cent, First Microfinance 7.75 per cent, Mailung Khola Hydropower 5.63 per cent and Mandeu Hydropower 5.43 per cent.
Snow River fell 8.23 per cent, Narayani Development Bank 6.96 per cent, Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) 6.75 per cent and Infinity Laghubitta 5.64 per cent.
The companies recording the highest trading volumes included Hathway Investment, Himalayan Distillery, Ghalemdi Hydropower, Liberty Energy, Kumari Bank, Sanima Middle Tamor and Laxmi Sunrise Bank.
Global IME Bank, Liberty Energy, Siddhartha Bank, Sanima Middle Tamor and Shivam Cement were among the companies with the highest number of traded shares.
