Kathmandu, September 21
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has suspended regular share trading for Monday following a technical problem at a data centre hosting the servers of 72 trading member companies.
According to NEPSE, the technical problem at Data Hub Pvt. Ltd. began on the morning of Ashoj 4 (September 20). Efforts are underway to resolve the issue, but it had not been fixed as of Monday.
NEPSE said continuing trading under the circumstances could potentially cause damage to its trading system.
The Stock Brokers Association of Nepal had requested NEPSE to suspend Monday’s trading, citing the technical problem at the data centre.
Based on the request, NEPSE suspended regular trading for Ashoj 5 (September 21) in accordance with Rule 21(1) of the Securities Listing and Trading Regulations.
NEPSE has apologised for the inconvenience caused by the suspension of trading.
