Bajhang, September 17
Police have arrested a woman in Bajhang after a video showing her throwing a dog into the Seti River went viral on social media.
The arrested woman has been identified as 42-year-old Bimala Devi Rokaya, a resident of Jayaprithvi Municipality-3, Pades, according to Inspector Dipak Bista of the District Police Office, Bajhang.
Police arrested Rokaya from her residence on Thursday afternoon.
She has been taken into custody for further investigation, police said.
The video circulating on social media reportedly shows Rokaya throwing a dog into the Seti River from the Pankot Bridge in Chainpur, Jayaprithvi Municipality-10.
Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
