The Nepal LP Gas Industry Association has urged LPG industry operators to sell cooking gas cylinders at the existing price of Rs 2,060 per cylinder.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the association asked gas companies to comply with the price fixed by the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) from last Friday.
LPG companies supplying the Kathmandu Valley had been charging an additional Rs 105.38 per cylinder to cover increased transportation costs after the Prithvi Highway was obstructed by floods in the Bhote Koshi River.
Following the disruption, companies supplying cooking gas to the Kathmandu Valley began refilling cylinders at plants in Makwanpur, Parsa, Bara, Chitwan, Nawalparasi and Dhanusha from August 30.
They then transported the cylinders to Kathmandu through alternative routes, resulting in additional transportation expenses.
The association, however, has now asked industry operators to sell the cylinders at the NOC-fixed rate of Rs 2,060 per cylinder.
