Japanese ambassador meets PM Balendra Shah, pledges support for post-disaster reconstruction

Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Maeda Toru held a courtesy meeting with Prime Minister Balendra Shah at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shah expressed gratitude to the Japanese government for its goodwill, support and solidarity with the Nepal government and citizens affected by the recent floods.

Ambassador Maeda expressed condolences over the loss and suffering caused by the disaster and pledged that Japan would support Nepal in post-disaster recovery and reconstruction efforts.

The two sides also discussed various aspects of Nepal-Japan relations and ongoing cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting comes as Nepal continues recovery and rescue efforts following the recent floods and landslides that caused widespread damage and loss of life.
