Krishnabhir road partially reopens, 2-way traffic to resume Thursday

Kathmandu, September 13

Traffic along the Prithvi Highway at Krishnabhir in Dhading has partially resumed after the road was obstructed.

The road was partially reopened after two bulldozers completed levelling work and prepared the platform required for traffic movement.

According to Department of Roads Director General Dr Bijay Jaisi, only stranded gas tankers and vehicles carrying heavy equipment have been allowed to pass for the time being.

He said work to construct a drainage channel along the roadside remains to be completed and that two-way traffic will resume from Thursday after the work is finished.

Earlier, an empty gas tanker was driven along the road to test its load-bearing capacity and assess traffic conditions.

The road at Krishnabhir had been obstructed after the Trishuli flood on August 26 washed away part of the road.

Since then, large and small vehicles using the route have been travelling to and from Kathmandu via alternative routes.
