Sanjay Sah, rescued from Trishuli 3A tunnel, discharged

Kathmandu, September 11

Sanjay Sah, who was trapped inside a tunnel of the Trishuli 3A hydropower project for 10 days following the Rasuwa Bhotekoshi flood on August 26, has been discharged from the hospital.

Sah was rescued on the 10th day after being trapped inside the tunnel and was admitted to Birendra Army Hospital in Chhauni for treatment.

Nepal Army spokesperson and Brigadier General Rajaram Basnet said Sah was discharged on Friday after recovering from his injuries. He returned home after spending seven days in the hospital.

Sah was rescued safely by a joint team comprising the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and technical experts. He is a mechanical foreman at the project.

Another person trapped inside the tunnel was also rescued along with Sah. Both were airlifted to Kathmandu by helicopter.
