Kathmandu, September 9
Both houses of Nepal’s Federal Parliament are scheduled to meet on Wednesday, with the House of Representatives set to consider two bills and a proposal related to membership in an Asian legislative body.
The House of Representatives meeting will begin at 1pm at Singha Durbar.
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sobita Gautam is scheduled to present the Nepal Law Commission (First Amendment) Bill, 2026.
She will also present a proposal seeking consideration of the Mediation (Second Amendment) Bill, 2026.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Gautam is also likely to present a proposal concerning Nepal’s membership in the Council of Asian Legislative Institutions.
The National Assembly is scheduled to meet at 1:15pm.
During the meeting, Legislative Management Committee Chairperson Krishna Bahadur Rokaya is scheduled to present the committee’s report on the Bill to Reinstate the Former Provisions of the Nepal Special Service Act, 1985.
National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal will also inform the House about a letter received from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers concerning the allocation of portfolios among Cabinet members.
