10 Bangladeshis arrested for suspicious activities in Thamel

Police have arrested 10 Bangladeshi nationals on charges of residing illegally and engaging in suspicious activities in the Thamel area.

Police Superintendent Sharat Kumar Thapa Chhetri of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office said the individuals were found to be residing illegally and carrying out suspicious activities at various hotels and guesthouses in the Thamel area of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26.

According to police, those arrested are: 46-year-old Fahima Aktar Hasan, 48-year-old Mahamud, 45-year-old Mahbub Hasan, 49-year-old Repon Mehmud, 30-year-old MD-Keramot Alikhan, 30-year-old Shahidur Rahman, 50-year-old MD Khalilur Rahman, 28-year-old Arifur Rahman, 42-year-old MD Maruf Mridha, and 64-year-old Mohammad Hanif Miya — all residents of Thamel, originally from Gazipur, Gadbapur police station area, Bangladesh.

Police said they were taken into custody from locations including Hotel Dhaka Express, Hotel D Vedha, and Hotel Al Rahman. All those arrested have been sent to the Department of Immigration for further investigation and necessary action.
