Nuwakot, September 7
President Ram Chandra Paudel on Monday conducted an on-site inspection of various areas of Nuwakot affected by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.
During the visit, he met with flood-affected residents and listened to their concerns. President Paudel received a briefing from the District Security Committee on ongoing efforts to search for and rescue people missing in the floods, as well as the loss of life and property caused by the disaster.
On the occasion, Chief District Officer Shambhu Prasad Regmi and other committee members presented details of the damage caused by the Rasuwa floods in the district. Regmi also briefed the president on ongoing efforts related to the search and rescue of flood victims, relief, resettlement and immediate reconstruction.
President Paudel also inspected a holding centre in Nuwakot where flood-affected residents are staying. The flood victims briefed the president on the loss of life and property caused by the unprecedented flooding in the Bhotekoshi River. Earlier on Monday, President Paudel also inspected a Nepali Army camp in Trishuli, Nuwakot, where flood-affected people were being assisted, as well as areas of Rasuwa affected by the floods.
