Four young men from the same village in Kanchanpur remain out of contact more than two weeks after the devastating floods struck the Rasuwa–Bhotekoshi area.
All four worked at the Upper Trishuli-1 hydropower project in Rasuwa and hail from Dekhatbhuli village in Kanchanpur. The missing are Padam Singh Saud (43) of Lalajhadi Rural Municipality-5, and Kalu Rana (30), Rikesh Rana (29), and Kreshan Rana (23), all from Krishnapur Municipality-3.
According to family sources, the four had finished their night shift and were sleeping in the morning before the flood struck. There has been no contact with them since. Even after two weeks, their families say their whereabouts remain unknown.
None of them has been in touch with their families. Lalajhadi-5 Ward Chairperson Pahal Bahadur Thapa said the entire village has been plunged into mourning with four young men from the same community missing at once.
He said the affected families are extremely worried that there has been no contact so far, and have appealed to the government, local administration, and all concerned authorities to intensify search efforts and make their situation known publicly.
