Kathmandu-Muglin road completely blocked by floods

Kathmandu, August 30

The Kathmandu-Muglin road has been completely blocked after floods caused the water level in the Trishuli River to rise.

The flooding in the Trishuli was triggered by the increased flow coming through the Bhotekoshi River.

According to Dhading Chief District Officer Laxmi Pandey (Gautam), the rising Trishuli River eroded the road from below, causing the road section to sink and become impassable.

The road was briefly blocked earlier this morning but reopened after some time. It was completely shut again shortly afterward.

The closure has left passengers stranded along the route.

Authorities are monitoring the situation as the flood continues to affect the road section.
