Kathmandu, August 27
Prime Minister Balen Shah on Thursday reached Bidur in Nuwakot to inspect areas affected by the devastating floods and meet people injured in the disaster.
Shah, accompanied by Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal, travelled to Bidur by road and began an on-site assessment of the flood damage.
During the visit, the prime minister is assessing the extent of physical damage and meeting local officials, security personnel and elected representatives to discuss ongoing rescue and relief efforts, rehabilitation and the restoration of damaged infrastructure.
Bidur is among the areas in Nuwakot affected by the flood that entered the district through Rasuwa following the Bhotekoshi River disaster on Wednesday. Betrawati, Trishuli and Devighat areas were also affected, with significant damage reported in riverbank settlements.
The prime minister is also expected to issue instructions to accelerate relief distribution and reconstruction of damaged infrastructure in the affected areas.
