Three ministers from the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) have been appointed to the Lumbini Provincial Government.
Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya recommended the names of the three ministers to the provincial chief. Dipendra Kumar Pun has been assigned the Ministry of Health, Indrajit Tharu the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, and Krishna Kushma Tharu the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives.
The newly appointed ministers are scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy at the Office of the Provincial Chief in Butwal at 3:25 pm on Tuesday.
Other members of the Cabinet have been recommended for the following portfolios: Tulsi Prasad Chaudhary for the Ministry of Forests, Environment and Tourism; Ramji Prasad Ghimire for the Ministry of Social Development; Santosh Kumar Pandey for the Ministry of Urban Development, Energy, Irrigation and Water Supply; Ratna Bahadur Khatri for the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development; and Bhandarilal Ahir for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Law, Industry and Transport.
Ghimire, who previously held the Health Ministry, has been assigned the Ministry of Social Development.
Chaudhary, who previously headed the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives, has been assigned the Ministry of Forests, Environment and Tourism.
Similarly, Pandey, who was serving as Minister for Social Development, has been proposed for the Ministry of Urban Development, Energy, Irrigation and Water Supply.
The Cabinet is being reshuffled in line with an agreement to have four ministers, including the chief minister, from the CPN-UML, three from the NCP and two from the Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal, in the current provincial government.
