A fire broke out at the office of Tanjakot Rural Municipality in Humla. According to the District Police Office, Humla, the fire started at around 1 am at the rural municipality office. DSP Shankar Khadka said residents and police personnel brought the fire under control.
DSP Khadka said an electrical short circuit in the store room of the Accounts Section of the rural municipality building may have caused the fire. He said the fire was completely brought under control at 3:45 am with the help of residents and police. The fire destroyed four wooden racks, one bed, one table and one solar battery.
Police said an investigation into the incident is underway.
