Dr Hari Sharan Aryal has been appointed registrar of the Nepal Ayurvedic Medical Council. He took the oath of office and secrecy before Health and Food Safety Minister Nisha Mehta on Friday.
Dr Aryal completed his BAMS and MD in Kaya Chikitsa (internal medicine) from the Ayurveda Campus under Tribhuvan University, graduating with distinction and a gold medal in his MD. He has served as medical director at National Nature Cure Hospital since 2009 and previously worked as a consultant physician at the Ayurveda Hospital in Naradevi.
He is also a former executive member of the Nepal Ayurveda Medical Council and a former executive member of the Singha Durbar Vaidyakhana Development Committee.
