Prime Minister Balen Shah is travelling to Pokhara today, his first visit to the city since being appointed prime minister.
The Annapurna Eco Village at Dhital Astam in Kaski’s Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality has already been booked for his stay, though the security apparatus says it still has no formal information about the visit. According to sources, all rooms at the resort have been booked, and a security team from Kathmandu has already reached Astam to arrange checks and logistics for the PM’s stay.
It was announced Thursday that the PM would also visit Mustang, but Mustang’s Chief District Officer Ajita Sharma said she too had only learned of it through the media, with no formal schedule received yet. Kaski’s CDO Kumal Singh Gurung said the same, adding they only know the PM is travelling by road and expect further details soon.
The Annapurna Eco Village, run by the Adhikari family, blends nature, meditation, tradition, and hospitality, offering views of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu ranges. It has 15-20 traditionally built stone-and-wood rooms, runs on solar power and water-recycling systems, and grows its own organic produce for guests. The resort is popular with foreign visitors seeking yoga, meditation, and nature retreats close to the city, and is also known for its sunrise and sunset views and short hikes through nearby hills, forests, and villages.
