Ganga Dahal, daughter of Nepali Communist Party (NCP) coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has said that she and her family are always ready to face any legal investigation by state authorities.
Dahal also urged the government to take serious note of what she described as recurring rumours being spread against her family.
“We are always ready for any legal investigation by any state agency under the Constitution and laws created by sacrificing the blood of thousands of martyrs,” she wrote on social media. “But why are such rumours spread from time to time? For what purpose are they being spread? I want to draw the government’s serious attention to this.”
Dahal said her family had survived situations involving the threat of death and therefore knew well what was right and wrong.
“We may face death, but we cannot deceive the people. That is our upbringing,” she wrote. “Is it a crime that I supported my father as his daughter, even at the expense of my personal life? I want to ask the leaders of this society and every parent this question.”
She also denied any financial wrongdoing or abuse of position by herself or her family, saying they would not engage in such activities in the future either.
“I want to remind everyone once again that we submitted our property details to the government some time ago,” Dahal wrote. “We will cooperate with any investigation conducted by the government, and if wrongdoing is proven, we will face the consequences.”
However, she said her family would not accept allegations made without evidence or wrongdoing.
“But accusations without reason and without any wrongdoing are unacceptable. I reject all such allegations,” she said.
