Bird flu confirmed in Bhaktapur poultry farms

Bhaktapur, June 25

Authorities in Changunarayan and Suryabinayak municipalities in Bhaktapur district destroyed chickens after the bird flu outbreak in the poultry farms there. Livestock Doctor of Livestock Service Office, Dr Amik Shrestha, said that so far 38,795 chickens were destroyed in wards no. 2, 8 and 9 in Changunarayan Municipality after the bird flu outbreak.

Likewise, 9,378 chickens were destroyed in wards no. 1, 4 and 8 in Suryabinayak Municipality in Bhaktapur. Dr Shrestha said that the chickens were destroyed after the confirmation of the bird flu in the poultry farms in Bhaktapur district.
