Gauthali teaser released

Gauthali

The teaser for Gauthali has been released. It offers a brief glimpse into the story, character portrayal, and the film’s overall dimensions.

The teaser depicts a mother’s efforts to settle her daughter into a stable married life, and the treatment the daughter ends up enduring within that household. It shows the suffering of a wife worn down by her husband’s erratic behaviour, and a mother’s desperate wish to see her daughter in a good family.

The film captures the story of a young woman who wanted to study but was married off instead, and the crisis that unfolds when the husband she believed to be decent and honest turns out to be different.

Arun Chhetri plays the husband, while Simran Khadka plays the wife. Arun’s disturbing behaviour and Simran’s story of being married at a tender age are likely to strike an emotional chord with viewers.

Gauthali is set to release on July 17. The film is directed by Dr Kapil Rijal, who is also a dentist by profession. The cast includes Madan Krishna Shrestha, Prakash Ghimire, Loonibha Tuladhar, Rabindra Jha, Ishwari Baral, Sanyog Rasaili, Sita Devi Timilsina, Laxmi Nath Timilsina, and Rajendra Nepali.

Child actors Anshu Oli and Prince Nepali also appear in the film. The story is by Dr Bhola Rijal, while the screenplay and dialogue were written collaboratively by director Kapil Rijal along with Nischal Kuwar, Neeraj Nepal, and Giri Raj Ghimire.

The title Gauthali carries the symbolic meaning of home, family, and mutual closeness. The film is a presentation of Bhola Rijal Productions and Suman Giri Productions, with Sarala Rijal serving as executive producer.

Suman Giri and Kapil serve as producers, while Indu Giri, Manish Rijal, Pralay Rijal, and Jiban Oli are co-producers. The music is composed by Shambhujit Baskota, Thaneshwar Gautam, and Prashant Shiwakoti, with background score by Alice Karki.

Notably, Dr Bhola Rijal made a film under the same title, Gauthali, two decades ago. Now his son Kapil has directed a new film bearing the same name, carrying forward the family legacy.
