With the start of the FIFA World Cup 2026 on June 11, excitement is building among football fans across the globe.
The tournament, to be hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, will feature 48 teams for the first time in World Cup history.
The World Cup fever has also gripped Nepal. Jersey shops across the country are witnessing a surge in demand as football enthusiasts flock to stores to buy jerseys of their favourite teams and players.
Jersey retailers in Kathmandu’s Sundhara and New Road areas, among other locations, are experiencing a rush of customers. The World Cup will conclude with the final on July 19. Matches will be played across 16 stadiums in the three host nations.
Participating teams have already arrived in the host countries and are currently engaged in training and warm-up matches ahead of the tournament.
