The special gathering of Nepali Congress leaders advocating for a special general convention is underway.
Leaders speaking at the ongoing event at the National Assembly Hall have been expressing their views in favour of calling the special general convention.
The Central Committee meeting of the Nepali Congress is scheduled for tomorrow, November 27. The participants have demanded that the Central Committee set the date for the special general convention.
Senior leaders, district presidents, and youth leaders who support the special general convention are participating in the gathering. A total of 2,499 representatives of the Congress have submitted a written demand with signatures calling for the special general convention.
On October 15, a written proposal demanding the special general convention was submitted to acting party president Purna Bahadur Khadka.
According to the party statute, a special general convention must be convened within three months from the date the proposal is filed.
