The share market rose by 62.29 points on Tuesday, pushing the NEPSE index to 2,571 points.
Although the market opened in red, it turned green after ten minutes and remained positive throughout the day. Trading volume also saw a notable increase from Rs 2.79 billion on Sunday to Rs 4.57 billion today. Prices of 236 companies rose, 12 declined, and 2 remained unchanged.
The development bank group led the rise with a 4.47% increase, followed by banking (1.92%), finance (3.14%), hotel and tourism (2.80%), hydropower (3.90%), investment (3.19%), life insurance (3.55%), manufacturing and processing (0.37%), microfinance (2.59%), non-life insurance (2.54%), and others (1.91%).
Three companies Nyadi Hydropower, Butwal Power and Excel Development Bank saw their share prices jump by 10%, while Radhi Hydropower, Lumbini Development Bank, Singati Hydro Energy, and First Microfinance rose by 9.60%, 9.35%, 8.21%, and 8.12% respectively.
Himalayan Power Partner saw the biggest drop, down 6.36%, followed by Unilever (-3.88%) and Bottlers Nepal Balaju (-3.77%).
The most actively traded stocks included Himalayan Power Partner, Union Hydropower, Radhi Hydropower, Butwal Power, and NRN Infrastructure.
