Dhangadhi, July 18
Two young men drowned while swimming in the Surma River in Gauriganga Municipality-11, Kailali on Thursday afternoon.
According to police, the deceased have been identified as Umesh Dhami, 25, and Prakash Dhami, 20, both residents of the same locality.
The incident occurred around 2:45 pm when the duo went swimming approximately 700 meters southwest of their home. They went missing after entering the river.
Upon receiving the information, a team from the Area Police Office, Masuriya, along with local residents, conducted a search and found both youths unconscious. They were immediately taken to Seti Provincial Hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead.
Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
