Kathmandu, June 3
Rajunath Pandey, Chief of the Municipal Police of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has been suspended.
Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain suspended him for six months.
Earlier, Guragain had sought a clarification from Pandey, accusing him of obstructing his entry into the office. According to a source at the Metropolitan Office, Pandey was suspended after his clarification was deemed unsatisfactory.
With the suspension of Pandey, Superintendent of Police, Bishnu Joshi has been appointed as the Chief of Municipal Police.
According to a source at the metropolis, Joshi has been assigned the responsibility of Chief of Municipal Police until further notice.
Superintendent Joshi, who works in the Disaster Management Department of KMC, said he has only received informal information about the matter. “I am currently out in the field for official duties. I have heard about it too, but have not received any formal information,” Joshi told Onlinekhabar.
