Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba has departed for Japan via Thailand.
According to her secretariat, Minister Rana left for Japan on Monday night for regular medical treatment. During her stay in Japan, she is also scheduled to attend an international conference on senior citizens to be held in Tokyo, where she will deliver an address.
While her secretariat stated that the visit is primarily for medical purposes, sources have indicated that Minister Rana is also expected to hold bilateral meetings during her stay in Japan.
