RPP leaders detained after protest inside Singha Durbar

Kathmandu, April 20

After Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leaders staged a protest inside Singha Durbar, the police took them into custody.

The police detained RPP Chair Rajendra Lingden, Senior Vice Chair Buddhi Man Tamang, Chief Whip Gyanendra Shahi, and others after they demonstrated holding pamphlets demanding a judicial investigation into the incident at Tinkune.

RPP had scheduled a protest program in the Bijulibazar area today. However, RPP Chair Rajendra Lingden and other leaders were at the party’s parliamentary office located inside Singha Durbar.

The police tried to stop them there. After that, the leaders attempted to come out through the southern gate holding pamphlets demanding an investigation into the Tinkune incident and the release of Senior Vice Chair Rabindra Mishra and General Secretary Dhawal Shamsher Rana, who were arrested following the incident.

However, the police seized the pamphlets and took them into custody.
