Protest held in Kathmandu demanding justice for 3-year-old

Kathmandu, August 21

A protest was held in Kathmandu today demanding justice for a three-year-old girl from Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-1, Bara, who was allegedly raped and murdered.

Rights activists and the victim’s relatives staged the protest. Participants displayed placards.

Her family has also been staging protests in Bara, demanding justice. The Birgunj–Pathlaiya road section has remained blocked for the third consecutive day as her parents and other family members have been staging a sit-in on the road.

Although the administration reached an agreement with residents on Thursday night, the victim’s family has rejected the agreement, saying it was reached without their consent.

Her father, Manoj Chaudhary, has demanded that Home Minister Sudan Gurung and Law Minister Sobita Gautam personally come forward and commit to amending Nepal’s laws.
