Infinix GT 20 Pro: Mid-range smartphone with bold cyberpunk design launched in Nepal

Infinix has launched its mid-range performance smartphone, the Infinix GT 20 Pro in Nepal. The smartphone is the successor to last year’s Infinix GT 10 Pro which was official in August of 2023. The GT 10 Pro was not launched in Nepal. The GT series from Infinix features performance-oriented smartphones, mainly for gaming. Bold cyberpunk designs are also a main highlight in the GT series which appeals to the younger audience.

Infinix has a wide range of options from budget to midrange options in Nepal and has been getting quite popular in the budget area mostly under the sub-Rs 15,000 category. Infinix has been competing with other budget smartphone brands like Benco and Tecno in Nepal which also have quite a range of options in the budget smartphone category.

The GT 20 Pro has some major updates regarding the GT 10 Pro specs, including design, display, chipset, memory, camera features and audio. Let us see what the smartphone delivers in terms of specs.

Design and Display

The Infinix GT 20 Pro has an updated design from its predecessor, the Infinix GT 10 Pro. Even though most of the design elements are similar, there are changes in the LED lights at the back. The design is cleaner with the LED lighting on the right side, which is C-shaped. The LED light is customizable according to the user’s need for better functionality. It can be customized for notification, battery level and charging. The ring flashlight is slightly different from the 10 Pro with a more clean and lean finish. The back has a cyberpunk design language but is made up of plastic.

Coming to the front, the display of the GT 20 Pro has a standard look with very thin bezels on the sides and top. The display has a centre-hole punch cutout for the selfie camera. The display features a 6.78-inch display with a screen-to-body ratio of 94.30%. It uses a flexible AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2436 x 1080 pixels. The display offers three refresh rate options: 60Hz, 120Hz, and 144Hz, with a touch sampling rate of up to 360Hz. It has a peak brightness of 1300 nits and a contrast ratio of 500W:1. The PWM frequency is 2304Hz, and it supports the DCI-P3 wide colour gamut. It has IP54 dust and splash resistance to keep the phone safe.

Performance and Storage

The Infinix GT 20 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate chipset. Its CPU is an octa-core setup with one Cortex-A78 core at 3.1 GHz, three Cortex-A78 cores at 3.0 GHz, and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz. The GPU is a Mali-G610 MC6. The performance is top tier with the powerful dedicated gaming chipset. It has up to 90 fps and has 37% lower power consumption while gaming.

For software, it runs on XOS 14 based on Android 14. Infinix is set to give 2 years of software updates and 3 years of security patches. For memory, it has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Camera

The Infinix GT 20 Pro’s rear camera setup includes a triple rear camera setup. It has a 108MP main camera with OIS. It has a Samsung HM6 sensor with an FOV 83.63°, 6P lens and Auto Focus. The remaining two include a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The rear camera apertures are F/1.75 for the main camera and F/2.4 for both the macro and depth cameras. It has a quad flash for the rear camera.

The camera of the GT 20 Pro supports various scene modes, including Dual Video, Video, Photo, Portrait, Super Night, Time-Lapse, Slow Motion, Sky Shop, Documents, AR Space, Pro, Super Macro, and Panorama. For video recording, the rear camera can record in 4K at 60FPS and 30FPS, 1080P at 60FPS, 30FPS, 240FPS, and 120FPS.

The front camera of the GT 20 Pro is 32MP with an FOV of 88.9° and a 5P lens with an aperture of F/2.2. It can record video in 2K at 30FPS and 1080P at 60FPS and 30FPS.

Battery and Performance

The Infinix GT 20 Pro is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging. The battery performance is quite good for long hours of gaming. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6 with dual-band capability and Bluetooth 5.2. It is compatible with LTE and 5G networks and has dual Nano SIM slots.

For audio, the Infinix GT 20 Pro features dual speakers with sound by JBL. The smartphone includes several sensors: a G-sensor, E-compass, gyroscope, light sensor, infrared sensor, proximity sensor and an under-display fingerprint sensor.

The Infinix GT 20 Pro is available in three colour options; Mecha Blue, Mecha Orange and Mecha Silver.

The Infinix GT 20 Pro is official in Nepal for Rs 44,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage option.
