Kathmandu, June 13

The Nepal cricket team’s flight to the West Indies for the ICC T20 World Cup has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, in the United States.

Persistent rainfall led to the cancellation of international flights, disrupting the team’s scheduled departure. The Nepali squad was supposed to head to the West Indies on Wednesday to participate in two group-stage matches of the ICC T20 World Cup.

The team was set to face South Africa and Bangladesh in the upcoming fixtures. The inclement weather also forced the cancellation of Tuesday’s match between Sri Lanka and Nepal, resulting in both teams sharing points.

Previously, Nepal faced a setback with a loss to the Netherlands in their first game of the tournament.

The US government has issued an advisory for residents in the southern region of Florida to stay alert due to ongoing heavy rain. Forecasts indicate that the rain could persist through the week, potentially leading to storms and flooding in Florida and nearby areas.
