Kathmandu, February 10
Former government secretary Arjun Karki’s wife, Muna, died in the course of treatment at Star Hospital of Lalitpur, a few hours after she had survived an attempt to murder, in her house in Sanepa.
The investigators have suspected that the domestic worker, who committed suicide immediately after the incident, might have killed the lady.
“It seems the worker hit her on the head with a pirka (wooden seat) in the kitchen,” an investigation officer says, “Then he hanged himself.”
However, further investigation is underway.

Former senior bureaucrat’s wife survives murder attempt in Lalitpur
Kathmandu, February 10
Muna Karki, a resident of Sanepa in Lalitpur district in Kathmandu, has survived an attempt to murder, in her house on Monday morning. SSP Tej Prasad Rai, the chief of the Metropolitan Police Range in the district, says Karki is critically injured in the incident.
She is the wife of former government secretary Arjun Karki.
Meanwhile, a domestic worker working for the Karki family, Bishesh Chaudhary, committed suicide after the incident, making it more mysterious.
The police are clueless about the attackers and their motives. Further investigation is underway.
