Kathmandu, November 7
Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has said Dashrath Stadium is not fit to host FIFA World Cup round 2 Asian Qualifiers scheduled for November 19. The stadium, which was damaged during the 2015 earthquake, is being renovated for the South Asian Games that Nepal is hosting in December.
The decision comes after AFC officials, who had come to Nepal to inspect the stadium, told the Asian governing body that the stadium was no ready to host a football match. The match now, according to ANFA might be played in Bhutan.
AFC had sent officials to Nepal for inspection on November 5. After examining the report, AFC on Thursday confirmed that the match couldn’t be played at Dasharath Stadium. Bhutan FA has said they are ready to host the Nepal vs Kuwait match at Changlimithang stadium.
