Kathmandu, September 4
A total of 230 climbing permits has been given so far to climb various mountains across Nepal this autumn. Of the 230 permits, 194 have been given to those looking to climb Mount Manaslu.
The Department of Tourism says that 18 teams are climbing Mount Manaslu this autumn. Similarly, Mount Dhaulagiri has also received some interest this fall with 15 climbers looking to summit the mountain.
Fifteen people have taken permits to climb Mount Lhotse whereas the government has issued only four permits for Mount Makalu. Likewise, only one permit has been issued for climbing Mount Everest this autumn.
According to the department, around Rs 24 million royalty has already been collected by issuing the permits for the season.
