Kathmandu, August 18
India said on Thursday it is ready to work closely with the Nepal government formed under Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
India’s statment comes at a time when Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi is leaving for India in the capacity of PM Prachanda’s special emissary.
India said it has accorded high priority to its relations with Nepal.
Vikas Swarup, speaking at a press conference that India’s Ministry of External Affairs had organised, said Nidhi’s visit will give India the opportunity to understand the priorities of the new government in Nepal.
Special emissary Nidhi’s visit will give us the opportunity to understand the new government’s priorities, Swarup said. He said talks will centre on further strengthening “our multi-dimensional relations”.
However, Swarup did not divulge the details of Nidhi’s upcoming visit.
