Kathmandu, August 26
Nepal’s newly-appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs Prakash Sharan Mahat says improving ties with neighbouring countries is his priority.
Minister Mahat, who was speaking to mediapersons after assuming office on Friday, said Nepal needs to adopt a balanced approach to its relation with India and China.
He also said that the ministry will work towards lobbying with foreign governments for the safety and well being of Nepali migrant workers abroad.
Mahat, considered a close ally of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, was Minister for Energy in the Sushil Koirala Cabinet.
