Nawalpur, May 22
A rainstorm on Tuesday night has damaged hundreds of houses in Devchuli Municipality in Nawalpur.
Although no human casualty was reported, Deputy Chair of Devchuli Municipality Parvati Tiwari said that nearly 300 houses were damaged in the area. “There are a few homes which have become uninhabitable. A few schools have also suffered major damages,” she said.
Police say that they are still assessing the damage. According to Tiwari, electricity poles and trees have fallen down which has affected a lot of people as they don’t have electricity. The poles and trees on the roads has also affected traffic movement.
The storm affected Ward No. 6, 7, 9, 11, 12 and 14.
