Dhulikhel (Kavrepalanchok), September 22
Police have confiscated 26 boxes of firecrackers from Kavrevanjyang in Ward No. 9 of Dhulikhel Municipality. The seizure was made from a truck (Na. 5 Kha. 7179) travelling along the BP Highway.
The truck, which was en route from Siraha to Kathmandu, was intercepted during a routine check on Saturday evening.
According to DSP Rajkumar Shrestha of the District Police Office, various types of firecrackers, presumably intended for the upcoming festivals, were recovered from the truck. However, the truck driver managed to flee, leaving the truck loaded with firecrackers behind.
Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
