Nepal’s Rakesh Manandhar has been defeated in the karate semifinal at the 20th Asian Games, currently underway in Japan.
In the men’s under-55kg kumite semifinal at Toyohashi Gymnasium, Rakesh lost 7–0 to Khumoyunmirzo Khalimov of Uzbekistan.
Rakesh was unable to score any points against Khalimov.
Despite the loss, he will now compete for the bronze medal against Thevendran Kalyana Sundaram of Malaysia.
