Kathmandu, June 14
Department of Food Technology and Quality Control has filed cases against 164 industrialists and traders as of the end of Baishakh, fiscal year 2072-73.
Department Spokesperson Purna Chandra Basti said they face charges of cheating customers and resorting to other irregularities.
These figures are from ghee industries, oil mills, noodles factories, water bottling plants and dairy industries.
Though the department had planned to collect 2, 030 samples during the period, it managed to collect 1, 814 samples only.
