The Tribhuvan International Airport Customs Office has filed a case against 10 people for their role in the 14-kilogram gold smuggling case.

The customs office has filed a case in the District Court of Kathmandu claiming the 10 people cost the state Rs 1.4 billion.

A case of organised crime has been filed against the 10.

On December 7, 2023, Chandra Ghale, who was coming to Kathmandu from Dubai, brought 14 kilograms of gold hidden inside his jacket.

The investigation committee of Tribhuvan Airport Customs Office concluded that Min Bahadur Ghale and his group smuggled 138 kilograms of gold.

According to Chief Customs Officer Maniram Paudel, the Customs Office filed the case after deciding to proceed based on the recommendation from the Government Attorney’s Office.
