Kathmandu, January 29
Police in Kathmandu arrested 10 people after firing gunshots during an overnight operation in Mulpani, authorities said.
The arrests followed a series of robberies in which suspects allegedly trailed individuals at night and stole jewellery, cash and other valuables. After the incidents were reported, a team from the Kathmandu District Police Range was deployed late Tuesday night.
Superintendent of Police Ramesh Thapa informed the team detained 10 people believed to be involved in the robberies. He added that police were compelled to fire shots during the arrests.
Police said further details about the operation would be made public later.
