Birgunj, May 15
CPN-Maoist Centre leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha says the proposed unification between CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre is certain though it will take some more time owing to various issues between the two parties.
He claims leaders of both the parties are holding discussions about multiple dimensions of the unified party so that it will be sustainable.
Shrestha rejects speculations that issues about leadership and power have blocked the unification. “We are already in the government and it has to do nothing with the unification. We have already agreed that both the chairpersons will be chairpersons for the interim period,” he says, “There is no problem about positions.”
Claiming that ideological, political and policy-level foundations have already been prepared for the unification, the leader says the unified party will be announced at the earliest.
Shrestha was speaking at a press meet in Birgunj of Parsa district today.
