RJPN lawmaker arrested for airport vandalism

File: Lawmaker Pramod Sah

Kathmandu, October 15

Police in Kathmandu have arrested House of Representatives member Pramod Sah for his alleged involvement in a vandalism case at Janakpur Airport on Monday.

A team deployed from the Metropolitan Crime Division arrested the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal leader from the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Sah was preparing to board a flight to Okhaldhunga when police nabbed him.

The lawmaker had reportedly vandalised the Buddha Air counter at Janakpur Airport yesterday after his flight was delayed. He had also vandalised the VIP lounge of the airport.

Following the incident, the airline company had refused to take him on board, but later the company had submitted to the pressure from the local administration.

He was elected to the Lower House from Sarlahi-1 in the 2017 elections.
