Nepali Embassy in Malaysia appoints lawyer to assist migrant workers

Kathmandu, May 30

Embassy of Nepal in Malaysia appointed a new lawyer to provide legal assistance to Nepali migrant workers there.

The post had been vacant for the past two months after the contract of previous company expired.

According to the Nepali Embassy in Malaysia, Kuala Lampur-based Law Chambers of Kharen Jit & Associate was appointed the legal expert after calling for tender some two months ago.

The Embassy stated that the objective behind the appointment was to provide legal assistance to Nepalis in jails and detention camps in the host country.

Likewise, the Embassy said migrant workers and their families facing other issues related to labour contracts can consult the lawyer for consultation and defence. The lawyer will provide free consultation and other services on immigration issues as per the agreement signed with the Embassy.
