Minister Aryal blames opposition for poor performance

Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal says the government could not function as effectively as it wanted due to challenges posed by the opposition.

She, however, claims the government’s performance is still satisfactory.

The opposition has tried to stop the government from moving in its pace by obstructing Parliament meetings and filing writ petitions against various government decisions, according to her.

“Our competitors who lost the polls are restless,” she told journalists at the Pokhara Airport today, “They are trying to block the government from doing its job. They obstruct Parliament meetings over trivial issues.”

The Nepal Communist Party leader, however, said the government would not be affected by such challenges as it was determined to moving ahead towards the dream of prosperity and development.

She said it was not a right time to evaluate the performance of government as it just completed its firth four months.

In another context, she claimed the federal government would intervene in the tax system of local governments and correct it owing to complaints members of the public had against the system of late.
