A delegation of leaders from Karnali region at the Ministry of Health in August.

Kalikot, August 24

Newly elected people’s representatives in various villages from Kalikot district of remote Karnali region have gone to Kathmandu demanding that the government provide a doctor and an ambulance to each village.

The leaders led a delegation to the Ministry of Health and demanded with State Minister for Health Ram Singh Yadav that the government ensure sufficient medicines, skilled health personnel and ambulances are available in all the villages.

In response, the state minister said he would take initiatives to address their demands.

Meanwhile, the local leaders say they will also meet other ministers and submit their various demands.

They have taken with them decisions, plans and programmes endorsed by recent municipal and rural municipal assemblies to pile pressure on the central government to help them implement the programmes.

They also went to the Ministry of Energy yesterday and demanded the launch of Ujyalo Nepal Ahiyan in the region.
