Kathmandu, July 20
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba is paying a visit to medical education reform activist Dr Govinda KC at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu on late Friday afternoon.
A source at Deuba’s secretariat says he will go to the Hospital after 4 pm today.
The main opposition party has extended support to Dr KC’s ongoing fast-unto-death as the activist has demanded that the government table the Medical Education Bill in Parliament without changing any provision of the Medical Education Ordinance that previous Deuba-led government enacted some months ago.
The party has already decided to obstruct federal and provincial parliamentary meetings till demands of Dr KC are met.
The senior orthopaedic surgeon is on a fast-unto-death for last 21 days.
