Dhangadhi, December 27
A young man lost his life in a motorcycle accident near Laxmi Nursery in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-3.
According to police, Dharma Khatri, a resident of Budhinanda Municipality-7 in Bajura, died when the motorcycle (Sudurpashchim Province 01-012 P 711) he was riding as a pillion passenger was rear-ended by another motorcycle (Sudurpashchim Province 01-29416).
DSP Kabindra Singh Bohara reported that Khatri, who was critically injured, was rushed to Maya Metro Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The motorcycle rider, Sharmila Thapa, 25, from Shikhar Municipality-11 in Doti, sustained injuries to her face and abdomen. She is currently receiving treatment at Maya Metro Hospital.
The rider of the second motorcycle, Puran Shah, 25, of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-3, has been taken into police custody along with both motorcycles involved in the accident.
The District Police Office is conducting further investigations into the incident.
